Putin: Russia hopes to sign trade, econ memorandum with Turkey

SOCHI, Aug 5 (PRIME) -- Russia and Turkey may sign a memorandum to develop trade and economic relations, Russian President Vladimir Putin told his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday.

"As we agreed, I hope we will manage to sign the memorandum on the development of our trade and economic relations today taking into account the agreements reached by our delegation during work in Turkey," Putin said.

He also said that the TurkStream gas pipeline from Russia to Turkey continues working without disruptions, and the European partners must be grateful to Turkey for uninterrupted gas transit from Russia.

Erdogan said that he hoped that the works on the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey under the Russian design would not be postponed.
